Providing he avoids injury beforehand, Saturdays season opener will provide yet another milestone in the career of captain Gary Jones.

Should he be selected, the game will be a club record 318th League appearance for him in Dale colours and therefore see him surpass the previous record holder Graham Smith. 



Gary, seen above with Graham marking his overall appearance record last term, looks younger as every season goes by and with two years left on his contract and aged just 31 he is virtually assured of passing 400 games in Dale colours having amassed 361 to date.
