A point gained was Rochdale manager Steve Parkin's take on matters at Spotland with just the width of the cross bar from a Dave Artell header determining the outcome. It was a poor game and performance wise it wasn't a patch on the events of last Friday night but the unbeaten run continues for both sides although Chester will have left Spotland thinking they should have had more than the point they got. Chester looked a good outfit at times with Roberto Martinez the pick of the bunch whilst Dale looked a little dis-jointed following the two enforced changes to the starting line up. Ernie Cooksey and Simon Ramsden slotting in for a suspended John Doolan and an injured Gary Brown. The game began at a frantic pace and after a half chance in Dale's box a second minute corner brought a chance for James Sharp, but his swivel volley flew well over the bar. With both defences on top not much arrived in the way of goal mouth action until the 15th minute hen Wilson went close with a volley after a cross from the left. Four minutes later Mark Wright's side went closer still after a well worked short corner routine was met with a thumping header from Artell that crashed off the cross bar with Gilks well beaten. Chester were certainly asking all the questions and on 25 minutes the lively Jon Walters shot just wide after getting better of Stanton. Dagnall managed to get on the end of a Goodall cross from the left after good build up play from Rochdale. Sadly his effort was blocked by Danby. The second half began with Chester still asking the questions but they couldnt find a way through a stubborn Rochdale defence. Sako must have received the benefit of his managers advice during the interval after starting the second period a little brighter shot after his sides first good move of the half. Three simple passes allowed Sako in to the area, but he drove his effort straight into the 'keepers arms. Two minutes the big frenchman was in on goal once more only this time he failed to find the target. A loose back pass found Sako and he raced into the box but drilled a low shot into the side netting. Chester still showed their teeth and Jon Walters went close with a shot that flashed just wide after skipping inside from a wide position. That effort was followed by the next from the visitors as Martinez curled a right footed shot goalwards following a good spell of football, but his attempt was easy for Gilks who smothered the ball as he dived to his left on 72 minutes. Clive Moyo-Modise had been introduced into the game replacing a very poor Richard Barker and with his presence it seemed to lift the home support especially after latching onto a ball down the right wing. Clive ran at the defender skipped into the box and shot after cutting back onto his left foot. Sadly Jamie Hand got in the block with ten minutes to go. In the end it was agame were both sides cancelled each other out but Steve Parkin was the happiest manager at the end of the game with the point for his side.

| Mark and his players will be the more disappointed about the result. |
Two points lost from my point of view, we showed have had it sewn up at half time.
