Things are superb at the moment and I suppose you could say that it is "Time to believe". Probably the best time to evaluate it though is in the summer when we are sat on the beach. It was always our plan to be successful but this has been an incredible first full season together. The experience that the lads learned from in the away leg at Darlington and to be still in the game after the penalty here will stand them in such good stead. Even going behind in the home leg they still believed and re set themselves, got the goal before half time and the rest is history.

We want to create history and we have done. We are pleased but I always find it difficult to get too happy because there is always something just around the corner especially in football. Having said that memories of Saturday will live in everyones mind for a life time. Those moments will be pivotal in everybodys life.

I am very fortunate that this has all happened to me in my first full season as a manager and it might never happen to me again. Gary Jones has never even watched a game at Wembley and he is going to be leading Rochdale Football Club out at Wembley. It is a dream for all of us and I have the opportunity to go there as a manager. It is pinch yourself stuff and everyone connected to this club deserves credit. Dave Flitcroft deserves enormous credit-he gave up so much to come and do this job because he believed in me. What we have done together is special and he is a very special person.

We now have to put Saturday behind us but as a coaching team we are very good at that. We switch off when we need to but switch right back on at the right times. Myself and Dave are very grounded in everything that we do. We very much have a labourers mentality-we do the hard work and so do the players. They reflect what we are about, they epitomise the word winner and show great work rate, honesty  and endeavour. We give each other as much as we have got and thats all we can ask. We might not be as good individually as some of the teams at our level but collectively we are strong and will knock down any brick wall.Myself and Dave came to the club as skill dismantler and a bulldozer and we are a combination of the two and and that makes us a real force.
