A lot has been said and written about Dale's youngsters and their " No Fear" attitude this season and if there is one player that sums that up it is winger Kallum Higginbotham.

Speaking to us the Salford born teenager confirmed that he loved every minute of last weekend 1st leg at Darlington and can't now now wait for the action to start again this coming Saturday.

" It was a massive occasion and though the result wasn't what we deserved I really enjoyed it. To be playing in such a big game and live on TV for the first time was fantastic. The support that we had on the day was absolutely amazing and we have had that all season long wherever we have played. It really gives you a lift when you come out and see so many fans behind the goal."

It has been a massive 12 months for Kallum as last May he was helping Oldham's Youth team beat us in a Cup Final and now he is possibly looking at a trip to Wembley as a regular first team player.

" It's been incredible really because this time last year I actually got released by Oldham. I was really down but luckily the manager and Flicker gave me a chance and luckily I have been able to take it."

So what is the feeling in the camp ahead of Saturday's continuation?

" There is no way that we would disrespect Darlington because they are a very good side but a 2-1 deficit is not the end of the world. The gaffer is obviously confident in our ability and we are confident that we can get the right result on the day. There would be no point turning up if we didn't think that we could do it. I know that I can't wait because it will be a great occasion and playing in front of a full house at Spotland will give all of us a massive boost"

Finally at the end of a remarkable first season in league football how does the thought of a possible trip to Wembley appeal?

" I simply could not find the words to describe what it would mean to me and indeed to the rest of the squad"
