" This is the nevironment that we are trying to create because we cannot go out there and buy players. I'd like to be given the opportunity to buy 1 or 2 but there is a special skill and feeeling to nurturing players as myself, Dave Flitcroft and the rest of the coaching staff are doing. We have therefore got to give the young players their opportunites and what they have to do is take them. We saw some very good performances out there on the day" 

On the achievement of hitting the Play off's

" This time last year the message to supporters was "It's Time To Believe" and our upporters have backed us 100%. they have been with us home and away all season long and it is vital that they continue to do so at darlinton and hopefully, at Wembley"

On the wonderful minutes applause in memory of John Flitcroft

 

" Dave needed that. I knew his dad and my dad played with him in local football and our families have known each other for years. It was a great reception and one that his family truly appreciated. There is no question that Dave needs to be with his family at this time but he will be back and has a massive future in the game of football. He is an incredible person, one of my best friends, part of my family and part of the Rochdale family- we saw that in the way that the fans reacted as one. I know his mum was here and she really appreciated the warmth from the supporters and I hope that we can do more for the whole Flitcroft family. If the coin was flipped I know that Dave would do everything in his power to aid me".
