Our under 16's team just failed at the last count to win the Championship but we had a fantastic time over the season which started in September through to last week.

We beat Liverpool 4-1 but unfortunately lost 2-3 to Tameside who became champions gaining promotion to the Premiership.

When I think back to February when we turned up to play with a depleted squad due to holidays it could have been much better as we lost to both Tameside and Liverpool easily-but never mind, we will back in September eager to do well.

Last night the lads were due to attend the Presentation Evening at Old Trafford to receive medals for their achievements.

Today, they have been invited to watch the game against Shrewsbury Town as a reward for their efforts.

Incidently, the Open Age team finished third in the Premiership, performing far better than expected against though opposition.

Training for both teams carries on through out the year at our 5-a-side Complex plus sessions continuing to take place at Redwood School for boys and girls in various age groups.

Mixed coaching sessions are also being arranged for Primary School pupils in the local Borough.
