On Sunday 18th May 2008, members of the Rochdale AFC Football in the Community team will be running in this prestigious event and hoping to raise much needed funds for the "Ernie Cooksey Treatment Fund"

A friend to many and loved by all who know him, especially here at Rochdale, Ernie has recently found out he is suffering from a form of cancer known as Malignant Melanoma
ernie

When melanoma has spread around the body it is known as stage 4 or metastatic melanoma-unfortunately stage 4 disease is notoriously difficult to treat.

Treatments and trials are being carried out all over the world and Ernie is obviously keen to try whatever there is available to him.

Dr Paul Lorigan at Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has treated Ernie and will continue to do so but at a significant cost

Eight members of our Community Staff (including Keith Hicks) will endeavour to make in round the 10 kilometre Manchester Run in a sensible time and hopefully raise money, which will go directly to influence his treatment.

Please donate as much as you can, either per kilometre or a fixed amount. Contact Keith Hicks in the Football in the Community office.
