Striker Chris Dagnall is back at the club now having been "signed off" by his surgeon and is well on the road to recovery from his cruciate ligament operation. It is a long way back for Chris and Gary Brown who had a similar operation but he is relishing the challenge.
"Things are going really well and I am starting to enjoy it now. We are in the gym every day with Andy Thorpe now doing strengthening and cardio work which is a lot better than doing nothing."
"The knee is feeling good and everything seems to coming along nicely. I have had no setbacks or problems so am very happy with the way that things are going."

At the moment the work that Chris can do is limited to straight line work because twisting and turning could put too strain on the knee and risk a set back
"All I can do at the moment is run in straight lines because I have to avoid twisting and turning because as soon as I try to turn I can feel it straight away and do not want to make things worse. It will take another few weeks before the ligament actually heals itself when I can then work on building up the muscle around the affected area. As soon as those muscles do build up I can then kick on to the next stage."
Seeing Chris in his training kit he does actually look ready to play again but how does he feel in himself?
"I feel really good because "Thorpey" loves his circuits. There is a massive difference between general fitness and match fitness but as soon as I can get back to the stage of being ready for full time training the match fitness will come back quickly."
Without setting any specific targets as to his return Chris still fancies a trip to Wembley when May comes around
"I can't wait and just hope that the lads keep things going well for me"
